The Big Bay Boom is San Diego's signature July 4th event — an elaborately choreographed multi-barge fireworks spectacular that can be seen from miles of waterfront across San Diego Bay. Multiple launch barges are strategically positioned so that no matter where you are on the bay, you get a breathtaking show. • From a bay cruise (book months in advance — they sell out)
TIPS:
• Take the San Diego Trolley to avoid parking nightmares
• Shelter Island is the closest free viewing area to the barges — arrive by 5 PM
