The Big Bay Boom in San Diego, California, is celebrated as Southern California’s largest and most technically impressive fireworks spectacle, drawing an anticipated crowd of over 400,000 shore-side spectators.

To anchor the massive 2026 milestone, the 18-minute show is uniquely staged entirely over the water, launching simultaneously at 9:00 PM from four massive commercial barges anchored strategically throughout the San Diego Bay off Shelter Island, Harbor Island, the Marina District, and the Coronado Ferry Landing. This distinct grid layout provides flawless, panoramic viewing angles from major coastal hubs, drawing thousands of local boaters who anchor directly in the bay outside of a strict 1,000-foot safety buffer zone.

To unite the massive crowds stretched across miles of coastline, the entire pyrotechnic score is paired with a live, highly energetic musical simulcast broadcast over local radio station 101.5 KGB, allowing families to tune in on their lawns, boats, and hotel balconies.
