Another delicious treat as we leave distillery expressions and focus now on Single Casks from an Independent Bottler called Single Cask Nation. These are generally higher ABV and unique barrels that are almost impossible to find more of.

SINGLE CASK NATION - Single Cask Nation was founded in 2011 by Joshua Hatton and Jason Johnstone-Yellin as an independent bottler aiming to make rare and fine single cask whiskies available to a wider audience. Independent Bottlers are those that buy casks directly from the distillery based on their tastes and quality bring them to their own facility pour them off to bottles and sell them. Challenging business no release is the same consumer trust is a big factor and access to products makes or breaks the sell. With over 10K direct subscribers they joined ASC (Artisanal Spirits Company) that also owns The Scotch Malt Whisky Society!

A fun opportunity for Whiskey Drinkers to learn a little more about Whiskey Tasting. While we mostly do taste some of what we drink there is a method to the madness when you are looking to discern differences in 40+% alcohol beverages!

Quick Review using our favorite Tasting Glass the NEAT Glass alongside the trade favorite Glencairn Glass reminding guests that we "70%" of flavor via our nose not our tongue so aromatics matter!

Tasting whiskies directly from Cask can be challenging as a result of the ABV and unique characteristics of a that one cask rather than a vatting of hundreds or more together. This means it can take a little longer to crack open and allow all of the whisky's notes to become available.
