The Sharp 5 (#5) Jazz Collective is a group of jazz musicians who formed because of their love of post-Bop Jazz of the late 1950s into the 1960s, and beyond. It is a collective in that it includes many like-minded jazz players in the area who can rotate into the lineup for any given performance. In addition to performing works by composers of the post-Bop era, including Wayne Shorter, Horace Silver, Herbie Hancock, etc., the group also performs more modern pieces such as by Roy Hargrove, Lynne Arriale, and Christian McBride. Members for this performance are Andy Carr, piano; Cary Stevens, drums; Kaden Schmidt, bass; Mark Kelly, sax; and Lock Clark, trumpet and fugelhorn.
