Atoka, Virginia
As word from the 'Shot Heard Round the World' at the first battles of Lexington and Concord arrived in Virginia in 1775, the colony was already in an uproar, preparing for an inevitable conflict with Great Britain. Over the next 8 years, soldiers and civilians would experience great hardships and sacrifice in the name of independence. Join VPHA's living history community for an evening at its headquarters in Atoka, Virginia and hear stories of the experiences of camp life, battles far from home, prisoners of war in the community, and more. Talk with period attired living historians, and explore the Revolution through the eyes of our community 250 years ago. Guests are welcome any time between 5:30PM and 7:30PM to interact with our living historians.
Beer & wine for guests over the age of 21, soft drinks, and refreshments will be provided.
