About this Event

This one is a little different. We will be doing a casual get together in Prospect Park on July 2nd. This is an outdoor event and if it rains we might need to pivot or cancel so please check back regularly.

WHERE EXACTLY:

We will be meeting at the Bridge on Well House Drive in the middle of Prospect park. See the image below for parking recommendation and walking route to reach the bridge. We will be picking a spot to play not too far from the bridge.

HOW DO I GET THERE:

Basically find any entrance to the park and then follow Well House Drive until you are over water - there is only 1 bridge on this road.

WHY:

We will be playing Crokinole outdoors on a Sunday in the park. We will likely get a bunch of foot traffic due to Smorgasburg and 4th of July.

WHAT'S SMORGASBURG:

Every Sunday from around April to November there is a food fair in Prospect Park. It started in another area and there are actually several of them in different parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan, but this one is very good. Essentially about 50 of the best Brooklyn restaurants get together outside with food tents and bring 3-4 of their best dishes to sell at the fair. The food is a bit pricey but the options are amazing. They have everything from BBQ to Vegan, Breakfast to Dessert, and Jamaican to Japanese food. By the way, the picture shows about 1/3 of the tents that are there... it's an experience.

WHAT ARE WE DOING:

We are just setting up a few Crokinole boards on Carrom stands in the park to teach anyone interested. Being that this is the weekend just before 4th of July we will probably get a ton of foot traffic and hopefully a bunch of new members.

So please join us around noon for some Crokinole, some amazing food, and hopefully a beautiful sunny day outdoors! Please let me know if you can come, if you can bring a carrom stand, if you can bring a board, and if you have any folding chairs that we might be able to use.

It is best to park inside the circle area and walk following the yellow path towards the meeting area. This is a reasonable area for parking and it's a fairly straight shot towards the bridge where we will meet. There are various pathways and even roadways that you can use to get to the meeting point, but parking is usually better on this side of the park than in other areas.
