Salem Band Stars & Stripes Concert

Join Salem Band for an All-American band concert in the town Square, the Triad's original STARS & STRIPES performance honoring veterans in our community with marches, big bands, sing-alongs, Armed Forces Salute, and of course, Stars & Stripes Forever! Hear two World Premieres of original compositions celebrating our nation’s 250th Anniversary and the original Independence Day celebration in Salem Square: Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise by Steven Sherrill; and American Hussite by David Mailman. The program includes Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, Places USA, and Cosmopolitan America. Don’t miss the sibling vocal duo featuring our own SB vocalist Mignon Dobbins and brother David Dobbins, baritone – singing, song-leading, and narrating. Arrive at 6:45 pm to enjoy pre-concert jazz by The Luke Childress Quartet. This event is generously supported by a grant from The Winston-Salem Foundation.
