Hello! Happy Independence Day!
Next week is our council meeting. It will be from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the OKC Community Center, 4001 NW 39th St., OKC, OK.
Our guest speaker will be Ray Orphan from the Department of Veterans Services. To accompany this, we will be sharing part of a historical account of our Chickasaw ancestors' war preparations.
Please read the “Notice of Meeting” email. Preview the attached minutes of our June 2nd council meeting to help streamline our business meeting. The agenda for next week’s meeting is also attached.
Once again, we encourage everyone to sign up to share a bit of cultural knowledge or history. I'm sure you all have family stories to share! Also, be thinking about the upcoming elections and whether you or someone you know would like to serve.
Hashminticha'impa! Y'all come and eat! The potluck meal begins around 6pm with the business meeting and the speaker to follow. This month's entree' will be provided by Rebecca Forsyth. She is planning a chicken salad swap so please bring your favorite chicken salad and a recipe to share. If you don't have a favorite, that's ok! You can help by bringing a side dish, salad, bread, snack, or dessert to complement the entree or you may donate to our "kitty" jar.

July 1st last day to apply for summer/fall higher education scholarships and for Chickasaw honors club
July 7th presentation from Ray Orphan on Veterans' Affairs
June 9th Purcell Farmers Market Celebration (10am-12pm) and Cooking Show
July 9-10 Stickball World Series in Mississippi -- will be live streamed online
July 21st Five Tribes Genealogy Conference at Chickasaw Cultural Center
Aug 4th OKCMCCC board elections
Aug 4th speaker will be Deidre Clark with the Farmer's Market
