Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6787, Carlsborg, WA, and the Michael
Trebert Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), invite the
community to attend the dedication of the Veterans Circle Flags of Honor Project at Mt. Angeles
Memorial Park, 45 Monroe Road, Port Angeles, on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
The ceremony begins promptly at 9:45 a.m. as the community gathers to honor Veterans and
celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States.
After six months of planning, fundraising, and volunteer service, Veterans Circle will be transformed
as 50 new American flags are raised together. The Made-in-USA 5’ x 8’ flags will fly on 15-foot
aluminum flagpoles secured in newly installed concrete sleeves, creating a lasting tribute of honor
and remembrance.
Each flagpole features a personalized gold dedication tag recognizing Veterans who have served our
nation. The project replaces the former cotton flags, providing a more durable and visible tribute that
can proudly stand during community observances including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and
Veterans Day.
“The Flags of Honor Project shows what happens when community partners unite with a shared
commitment to honor Veterans,” said Commander Yarnchak of VFW Post 6787. “These flags
represent gratitude, remembrance, freedom, and the enduring spirit of America.”
The public is invited to attend this meaningful dedication as 50 flags rise together in tribute to the
sacrifices and service of generations of American Veterans.
