🎉America 250: 4th of July Celebration🎉Celebrate Independence Day in Ohio’s River Town! Join us for a full day of family fun, community spirit and a spectacular milestone as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. From early morning traditions to our famous fireworks over the Muskingum River, there is something for everyone in the heart of our village.
🗓️ Event Schedule
Morning: Kickoff & Shopping
8:30 AM | 5K Run at Old Bridge Brewing Company (Registration at 7:30 AM). To register, call 740-221-1620 or email [email protected].
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Cash MOB Shopping Event. Support our local shops! Spend $10 at participating stores to be entered into a special drawing.
Afternoon: The Festival & The Big Parade
2:00 PM | The Square is OPEN. Vendors, Kids' games, Dunk Tank, Beer Garden, Food Trucks, Bingo and 50/50 Raffle.
2:15-2:45pm | Center Stage Dance Performance
Note: Games will run 2:00–4:00 PM and resume after the parade until 8:00 PM.
4:00 PM | The Independence Day Parade. Begins in Malta (Lineup at 3:00 PM at Kiwanis Ball Park). The parade will cross the bridge and end at The Commons.
Evening: Contests & Live Music
5:00 PM | Pie Baking Contest & Auction. See Jamie McNabb at Town Square Collectibles for entry details.
5:30 PM | Hot dog Eating Contest. Hosted by Morgan Youth Basketball ($10 entry). Age groups: K-6, 7-12, and Adults. Text 740-503-8949 to sign up!
6:30 PM – 9:30 PM | Live Music: Poverty String Band Trio.
The Grand Finale
10:00 PM | Fireworks Display. Watch as we light up the sky from the McConnelsville Dam!

Vendors: Setup begins at 12:00 PM.
Parking: "No Parking" hoods will be placed on meters starting at 10:00 AM.
