We also honor the full story—those who were not recognized when this country was formed. The enslaved, the Indigenous, the marginalized—those who were forced to sacrifice without choice, and whose labor, wisdom, and endurance helped build the foundation we now stand on.
Their stories matter. Their healing matters. Our freedom is incomplete without theirs.
