Yo Ho Hum – A Pirate’s Midlife Crisis, by Marcus Anthony, is coming to Florence over Fourth of July weekend! Staged by the players of the Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts (WCPA), it will be at the Rialto Theater at 209 W. Main Street on Saturday, July 5, at 7 p.m, and Sunday, July 6, at 2 p.m.
Yo Ho Hum is a brand-new comedy that debuted at the Minneapolis Fringe Festival in 2024. It spins the tale of Stede Bonnet, respectable 18th-century gentleman turned pirate captain, who discovers that the pirating business is not as easy as the professionals make it look; and his hapless first mate, Tristram Shanty, whose dream of becoming a meteorologist is dashed as a result of following Bonnet into a fateful encounter with Blackbeard.
