The United States will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, known as the Semiquincentennial. America250, the official national initiative behind the celebration, is coordinating events and commemorations across the country from July 3–5, 2026.
The City of Dallas, in partnership with Downtown Dallas Inc., is hosting an official America's 250th Birthday Celebration on July 4, 2026, at Main Street Garden Park. The event is listed on the official America250 calendar and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., making it one of the most significant commemorative events taking place in Dallas on the nation's milestone birthday.
Addison Kaboom Town! is returning on July 3, 2026, at Addison Circle Park. The event is celebrating its 40th year and is recognized by America250 as part of the nationwide commemoration. Visitors can enjoy an air show, patriotic entertainment, family activities, and a nationally recognized fireworks display that has become one of Texas' most iconic Independence Day traditions.
Throughout 2026, Dallas institutions are participating in America250 programming. The Dallas Public Library is hosting exhibits, programs, reading initiatives, and educational activities tied to the 250th anniversary, while Visit Dallas has launched dedicated America250 initiatives highlighting the city's role in the national celebration.
The Lakewood Fourth of July Celebration is listed on the official America250 event calendar and will take place at Historic Lakewood Shops in Dallas.
