About this Event

For one unforgettable evening, step aboard the 1877 ELISSA, the Official Tall Ship of Texas, and become part of one of the most exclusive America 250 experiences in New York Harbor. As part of the historic Sail4th250 celebration, guests will enjoy unparalleled views of the nation's most spectacular fireworks displays from the deck of a National Historic Landmark and one of the world's oldest sailing ships still afloat.

Surrounded by the iconic skyline of New York City, you'll experience breathtaking panoramic views of the Statue of Liberty, Lower Manhattan, and the Brooklyn Bridge while enjoying front-row access to the Fourth of July fireworks. There is simply no better vantage point in New York City for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The evening includes live entertainment from internationally acclaimed bandleader Dandy Wellington & His Band, curated food offerings, premium beverages, and the rare opportunity to celebrate America's birthday aboard a vessel that has witnessed nearly 150 years of history.

When the final fireworks fade from the sky, this extraordinary gathering will become part of history itself. Space is extremely limited. Secure your place aboard ELISSA and experience the Fourth of July from the most remarkable seat in New York Harbor. Your ticket directly supports this historic vessel and its maritime history programming.

DRINKS - FROM TEXAS WITH LOVE

  • Saint Arnold Elissa IPA (TX) - A traditional India Pale Ale named after our historic Tall Ship, the Elissa IPA is very hoppy with a well-balanced malty body, an authentic version of the India Pale Ale style.
  • Come and Drink It Rose (TX) - Light pink in the glass, with bright, floral notes of fresh-cut cantaloupe that open to juicy summer fruits like strawberry and watermelon. Balanced with acidity and slight hints of citrus, it really brings harmony and elegance to the underlying red fruit. Refreshingly crisp and dry.
  • Come and Drink It White (TX) - In the glass, we see bright, pale straw luminescence, notes of orchard fruits, mandarin, and soft green apple. Viognier brings floral notes, while Pinot Grigio is seamless in acidity and crispness, giving way to aromatics with a hint of Riesling.
  • Come and Drink It Red (TX) - Experience pays off with wines like this lush, elegant red blend, which illustrates the region's potential. Whether paired with a meal or, better yet, sitting around the fire with friends and enjoying some tunes, our Red Blend drinks easily, with lush dark red fruit, balanced acidity, and a hint of oak.
  • Rambler Sparkling Water (TX) - An American sparkling mineral water made with real minerals and crisp carbonation. Better taste. Better hydration. Nothing artificial.
  • Non-Alcoholic Options - Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale, Saratoga Still, Sparkling Water

LIVE MUSIC WITH DANDY WELLINGTON AND HIS BAND

Dandy Wellington is a bandleader, presenter, entertainer, event producer, and creative consultant, born-and-raised in Harlem, New York. Influenced by the style and skill of classic entertainers of the past but with his feet planted in the present, it’s no surprise that he has made a name for himself across the globe.

Boasting an impressive and eclectic list of clients that includes Airbnb, Bergdorf Goodman, Penhaligon's London, Hendrick's Gin, and the National Museum of African Art, Dandy puts his uniquely well-dressed stamp on everything from his events to his music. Whether he’s organizing a dinner party at Gage and Tollner, moderating talks at Goodwood Revival, or crooning with his jazz band at The Rainbow Room, the crowd is well-coiffed, and the scenery is elegant.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE LOCATION: The Brooklyn Bridge Marina is located inside Brooklyn Bridge Park and will be controlled by the NYPD. We are awaiting final details on entrance points and will communicate them to our guests once we receive them.

ATTIRE: Dress comfortably for the day's weather, wearing clothing that can be easily added or removed. If there is the remotest possibility of rain, bring an appropriate rain jacket (no umbrellas, please, as many sailors consider them bad luck, and they can be dangerous even in moderate seas). Wear flat, rubber-soled, closed-toed shoes. Hats and sunscreen are always a good idea.

ABOUT THE 1877 TALL SHIP ELISSA, THE OFFICIAL TALL SHIP OF TEXAS | Galveston Historical Foundation brought ELISSA, an 1877 square-rigged iron barque, from a scrapyard in Piraeus Harbor, Greece to Galveston to begin restoration work in 1978. By 1982, GHF staff and volunteers completed restoration and transformed this rare, historic vessel into a floating museum that would actively sail. Today, the 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA is one of only three ships of her kind in the world to still actively sail and welcomes over 40,000 visitors annually. She also serves as the Official Tall Ship of Texas, a National Historic Landmark, and a symbol of the Gulf Coast’s historic beginnings as a seaport and active waterfront.

ABOUT GALVESTON 250 | As part of Galveston 250’s voyage, ELISSA will make strategic port calls en route to Sail 250 celebrations, engaging a series of high-visibility maritime markets. ELISSA’s presence at Sail 250 not only elevates Galveston’s national profile during this milestone celebration, but also reinforces the importance of preserving authentic historic vessels as active, experiential storytellers—linking past innovation, resilience, and international exchange port celebration audiences.
