Join City of Midland Parks and Recreation, Downtown Midland, and the Great Lakes Loons for a 4th of July Block Party on Thursday, July 4! The night will include baseball, live music, food and beverage vendors, and an awesome fireworks display.Beginning at 4 p.m., food trucks will assemble outside Dow Diamond, 825 E. Main Street, with an on-site beer garden offering libations for purchase. The Loons take on the West Michigan Whitecaps at 7:05 p.m. inside the stadium.
Live music begins on the Dow Diamond lawn at 8 p.m. featuring Leave Those Kids Alone, teenage musical prodigies playing classic rock hits. Vendors will be on-hand to offer refreshments for purchase. At dusk (roughly 10 p.m.), guests will be treated to a brilliant Fourth of July fireworks display launched from the St. Charles softball diamonds. Fireworks will be visible from the outside grounds of Dow Diamond, Founders Park, Whiting Overlook Park, and other downtown locations. The Great Lakes Loons will also feature its own post-game fireworks display prior to the start of the City’s show.
Tickets are required to attend the baseball game, but events and activities outside the stadium are free to attend.
There will be an accessible drop off only at the corner of E Ellsworth St and State St. Handicap only parking can be accessed at the corner of E Main St and Cronkright St.
