Have you ever wanted to teach swing dance but were not sure you could? Would you like to help us grow our amazing swing dance community? Would you like to take your swing dancing to another level?We at NoCo Swing Dance feel that we have made significant progress towards growing our swing dance community, however, we feel that in order to take it to the next level we need more teachers and more input into our community from a teacher's perspective. There is no doubt in our mind that the best way to learn is to teach!
We also believe that sometimes folks need a little encouragement to make the leap into teaching. In order to make this happen, those who attend the teachers training will be asked to assist with two Introduction to Swing teaching opportunities upon completion of the training.
No teaching experience is required.
The primary goal of this workshop is to prepare, encourage and build excitement around Teaching Swing Dance lessons in our community.
We have a number of opportunities coming up where we would like to share the joy of teaching swing dancing to beginners. For example:
NoCo Swing Dance 2nd and 4th Friday Dances
The Old Tow Churn Summer Series
OBC Swing Days of Summer
Longer term we would love to build a pool of teachers that would like to teach our progressive lessons including but not limited to:
Introduction to Swing
Lindy 1
Lindy 2
There is no doubt in our mind that the best way to learn any skill is to teach that skill. So not only will you be able to help us fulfill our mission of sharing the joys and benefits of swing dancing, but we also believe that teaching in our community will make you a better dancer.
Because this is a significant benefit to our community, we will only be charging $10 for this two-hour workshop. Also, if for some reason you cannot afford $10 and you really want to join us, please reach out to us at [email protected]. NoCo Swing Dance wants everyone to have the opportunity to learn to teach this amazing dance.
We take Venmo (@NoCo-SwingDance) or cash or check on or before the first night. Please arrive early so we can get you checked in. Also, if you know you will be attending, please email us so we can get a head count at [email protected]. We would like to know if you would like to lead or follow and which class you would like to attend.
