Join us for Newton's Independence Day Celebration at Agnes Patterson Memorial Park. Activities begin at 5 p.m. and include a free throw contest, Kids Zone inflatables, live DJ music, food trucks, and fireworks at dusk. We want to thank all of our event and activity sponsors: Cappy's Tire & Auto Service, Bolton & Menk, Black Hills Energy, DMACC, Shomo-Madsen-Woythaler Insurance, and Walker, Billingsley & Bair.
Schedule:
5 p.m. - Free Throw Contest sign-ups open at the basketball court near the soccer fields. Kids (12 and under) and Teens (13-17) contests begin at 5:15 p.m. Adult sign-ups open at 6 p.m., with the contest beginning at 6:15 p.m. First and second place winners receive prizes, and all participants receive a medal. The Free Throw Contest is sponsored by Shomo-Madsen-Woythaler Insurance and Walker, Billingsley & Bair.
5:30 - 8:30 p.m. - Kids Zone with inflatables, sponsored by Black Hills Energy and DMACC.
6:15 - 9:15 p.m. - Live music from DJ Christian Connett Music, sponsored by Black Hills Energy and DMACC.
Dusk - Fireworks display, sponsored by the City of Newton, Bolton & Menk, and Cappy's Tire & Auto Service.
Food trucks Sugar & Spin, Hungry Boys, and Tikka Talk will be on site throughout the celebration.
Please note: the 4th of July Parade and Downtown Market take place earlier in the day in downtown Newton. That event is planned separately by the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce and Newton Main Street. Details and schedule are available on the Chamber's website.
