Help Clean Up Trash at Gravelly Point after Independence Day

Volunteers will remove trash around Gravelly Point left over from 4th of July celebrations
About this Event

The Friends of Mount Vernon Trail and Potomac Riverkeeper Network will be improving the trail at Gravelly Point.

Volunteers may perform some of the following work:

1. Picking up trash

What to Bring:

1. Water
2. Gloves (We'll have some to borrow)
3. Long sleeves and long pants

Where to Meet:

See the picture below of where to meet on the trail. The work area is north of Gravelly Point. If coming by car, enter Gravelly Point in Google Maps for directions. The parking lot can only be accessed when headed northbound on the GW Parkway.

Note the parking lot might be busy.

Group Volunteering:

We welcome groups to come volunteer at our events. If you plan on having more than 10 people come on a particular weekend, just let us know via email ([email protected]) no less than one week prior to the day of the event. It is critical that you reach out and ensure everyone volunteering with your group registers through this EventBrite link so we can better plan work scope, prepare supplies, and promote your group’s attendance on social media.
