What God is Doing in Friendship ny alliance of churches participants will host two free family-focused movies at 6:30PM on the Wednesday nights before and after the July 4th Weekend at The Mission House Family Center, former site of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, offices and rectory, at 30 East Main Street in Friendship.
On Wednesday, July 2, Fireproof, will be screened, followed by Overcomer on Wednesday, July 9.
Fireproof has been proclaimed for its strong message of enhancing and strengthening marriages, even in the midst of conflict.
After seven years of marriage, according to the screen scenario, Fire Capt. Caleb Holt and his wife, Catherine, have drifted so far apart that Catherine wishes she had never married.
As the couple prepares to enter divorce, Caleb's father challenges his son to commit to a 40-day adventure he calls "The Love Dare."

Caleb's job in firefighting is to rescue others. Now he faces his toughest job ever ... rescuing his wife's heart.
In Overcomer, Coach John Harrison's high school basketball team’s state championship dreams are crushed when the largest manufacturing plant in town suddenly shuts down and hundreds of families begin moving away.
A new challenge emerges when the school principal urges Harrison to fill-in and coach a sport he doesn’t know or like, with a single player struggling with her own journey in life.
The film is designed to leave viewers filled with hope, inspiring to dream, and asking the question: what do you allow to define you?
Both films are produced by the Kendrick Brothers, who also have created other titles such as Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Courageous and Show Me the Father.
They are shown through the auspices of Drive-in Ministries of Alabama which screened an additional Kendrick Brothers film, War Room, about the power of prayer, over the July 4th Weekend last year in Island Park.
The outdoor setting is being moved indoors this year due to the late start which is required due to the summer timing of dusk.
The showings are part of the alliance of churches focus on helping to build stronger marriages and families throughout the area.
Participating churches already have joined this year in hosting a Valentine's Dinner at Houghton University, joining in creating a scholarship fund in support of those wishing to attend the national FamilyLife Weekend to Remember couples retreats, and promoting materials to help build stronger marriages as part of National Marriage Week.
