Join Evanaton in their 101th celebration of Independence Day this year! The fun begins at 9 am with family-friendly games and events at sites throughout Evanston. The Kids Fun Run starts at 12:45 pm followed at 2:00 pm with a parade that proceeds down Central St. That evening gather at the lakefront for the 7 pm live band concert then the celebration culminates with a grand fireworks display.

The Evanston 4th of July Celebration has always been a source of pride for the locals. The Independence Day festivities have been organized here since 1921 when a local child got injured while playing with fireworks. Then the people of Evanston decided to form a Fourth of July Association to organize a safe celebration. Evanston Fourth of July is a fun family-friendly event featuring a parade a fun run a concert and fireworks.2024 Parade Info:The award-winning Evanston 4th of July Parade is scheduled for Tuesday July 4th and begins at 2 p.m. The parade route East on Central Street from Central Park Ave. to Ashland Ave. (Ryan Field).Morning Games & EventsFamily friendly games and events bring neighbors together for fun competition and social interactions. There are 7 sites that host the games and all begin at 9:00 am. Ribbons are awarded. Games are free. Concert & FireworksThe Palatine Concert Band will perform from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Arrington Lakefront Lagoon at Dawes Park located at Sheridan Road and Church Street. Lakefront fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Fireworks are visible from most lakefront parks.
