There is even more to enjoy on Independence Day in Yorktown.
The Yorktown American Legion Post 321 Duck Race Fundraiser will take place Saturday, July 4 at 1:00p at Buck Creek Bridge. Proceeds support the Bowl for Tots and Kids Christmas Program, making this a fun way to be part of the day while also helping local children and families. The event features 250 ducks at $20 per duck, with prizes including $2,000 for first place, $500 for last place, and eight random pre-race number drawings worth $100 each.
The duck race is one more great reason to spend the day celebrating in Yorktown. The day begins with Four for the Fourth at 8:30a at Civic Green Plaza, followed later by food trucks and beer beginning at 3:00p in Morrow’s Meadow with live music. After dusk, the evening wraps up with fireworks over Morrow’s Meadow, with the official event page noting an approximate start around 9:45p.
