Brooklyn Waterfront Paint and Sip

Please join artist James Rose in a paint and sip class at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition. The class happens in an enormous gallery in a Civil War era warehouse on the docks of Red Hook, Brooklyn. All participants will paint along side the experienced artist and art educator as he paints the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and other iconic scenes of our great city.

The BWAC gallery has a breathtaking view of the NYC Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. James will have established a step-by-step process of making these paintings for those that are brand new to painting. If you haven’t picked up a paint brush since the 3rd grade, no problem! James will be right there with you to help you make a beautiful painting.

If you are more advanced or have intermediate experience and would like to work on a different painting or your own take on the theme, James can help you with that too! Please wear clothing you do not mind getting paint on. If you are going out afterward, we recommend bringing an oversized t shirt to wear over your clothes for a smock.

Here is what is included in the event:

1. All art materials- one canvas, brushes, paint, and paper towel.

2. One complimentary glass of wine or beer. (More is available!)

3. A great view of the Statue of Liberty

4. The BWAC gallery and its amazing seasonal show on view for inspiration.

More about your instructor:

James has been a professional artist for more than 25 years. He has shown his work all over the United States. He has a BFA from the Maine College of Art and an MA from Brooklyn College.
