Off The Vine got to know Barnett Vineyards atop Spring Mountain in Napa Valley during a visit to the Valley for Release Day for both Silver Oak & Groth! We stayed in a home up top of the moutain snow still laying in some of the shaded spots on the hillside vineyards and were fortunate to get to taste with Barnett in their Woodshed just off their vineyards.

We were visiting then when the winery was in the 11th vintage now hitting 25th with a current total production of approximately 8000 cases. Rattlesnake and Spring Mountain District wines including Merlot and Cabernet Franc remain the focus with total estate along with limited amounts of Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc with sourced fruit.

What began as a 40 acre lot with "trees rocks shrubs and dozens of rattlesnakes" has blossomed over the years with vineyards that produce intense concentrated fruit that Fiona & Hal always envisioned as the end result of their quest! Come share their wines as we learn more about the journey.
